The STATCOM is shunt connected FACTS device used for improve voltage profile of transmission system which connected line with voltage source inverter (VSI) with DC link capacitor. Reactive power compensation using STATCOM is used for mitigates power loss & improves power factor and voltage profile in transmission system. MATLAB/Simulation is used to analyse the performance.

Switched Capacitor based DC-DC Boost Converter in (Course Project) IIT Roorkee

A non-isolated high boost DC-DC converter topology based on a switched-capacitor (SC) structure is discussed. By controlling the duty cycle in each period, the voltage gain of the converter is adjusted. The main features of SC converter are the continuous input current, achieving high voltage gain with low voltage and current stress on the power components, no use of a high-frequency transformer, and easy to increase the voltage by adding the SC cell.

MPPT is crucial for extracting the maximum power from solar panels under varying environmental conditions, Output of solar PV is DC Voltage while a high-gain DC-DC converter can be used in running dc loads or it is connected to HVDC lines.
